The term 'Brutalism' does not derive straight from the word "brutal", but originates from the French béton brut, or "raw concrete", a term used by Le Corbusier to describe his choice of material. Brutalist architecture is a movement in architecture that flourished from the xxxxs to the mid-xxxxs, descended from the modernist architectural movement of the early 20th century.
Large Brutal torched brass light fixture.Similar in style to C Jere metal work. Would also fit well with Paul Evans furnishing. About 23-24" tall and about 9" wide.This was wired directly into ceiling,hangs on a chain,with ceiling cap.

Incredible chandelier in the modern brutalist style. Made of torch cut brass, the chandelier has a beautiful golden patina. Greene created several wonderful abstract chandeliers for distributors of Modern Lighting- including Lightolier, Gruen, Monteverdi Young and Feldman.
