Appear to be in fine condition, but not new, clearly vintage.
Asnes Tur-Langrenn Norwegian ski factories used to ship wood skis and bamboo poles all over the world. Production of wood skis was halted in the xxxxs, as fiberglass and other synthetics became more popular and less expensive to manufacture. Now it's difficult to find a pair of wood cross-country skis in good condition.
Åsnes Ski Factory started the first commercial manufacturing of Åsnes skis back in xxxx when the four Åsnes brothers began the ski production on a small scale. Arne Åsnes, the eldest in a Christian family of nine, got a job at LC Hagens ski factory in Oslo in xxxx. After a short time, he was joined by three brothers and in xxxx they started up the Åsnes Ski Factory.
Since then, the development had gone from production of solid wooden skis to laminated wood core, glass fibre and cap skis, with or without steel edges, on an industrial and high-tech basis.
Åsnes manufactured various other brands of wooden skis for U.S. companies, including Janoy, Telemark, and Trysil Knut. Customers in Norway and abroad knew little about Åsnes' profusion of models, only that they were Norwegian.
Åsnes delivered his last wooden skis to the military in xxxx and later went bankrupt in xxxx
